Swinton Band - where are they now?

As with all bands, our members tend to move on, often when they go to university or find work elsewhere. Some lose touch with us, but many stay in touch and return to help out, or simply mock.

Here are some pictures of past band members as we never saw them.

Two players - one instrument! Swinton produces some versatile "musicians"! Dan and Helen on the bassoon...	...Maggie and Mike on piano!
A good time was clearly had by all at Tom's wedding - the "posse" out in strength!	David has moved on - he's now working for County Durham Fire Services .

Lee has been doing some adjustment to his front teeth, using somewhat drastic measures - I doubt it will improve his embouchure!

At first glance you would think "Situation normal, in the pub as usual!" but there was a bit more to it when David, Maggie, Frances, Peter and John met up on Saturday evening. These maniacs had spent the day proving that there's more to Yorkshire than banding by successfully attempting the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge. Peter appears to have been challenged to juggle on the top of each peak as well!
Mary recently spent a morning with hundreds of other mad bandspeople and Harold Bishop playing the "Neighbours" theme tune in Trafalgar Square!	Nicole is studying medicine at Newcastle University. Despite having joined Backworth Colliery Band there, she is helping us out over the Summer!
If you want to know the time ask a police horse - Maggie finds a new friend at Uppermill.	Our third cornets at Hardraw Scar 2007. The most recent previous photo I can find of them when they were third cornets together shows Lizzie (extreme left) and Susan (just below Dorothy) with Jim Shepherd in 1995.
Jane is now settled in Cornwall and playing flugel for Gweek Silver Band
Madder than ever they've branched out into technicolor this year!	Roy and Megan were welcome guests at the Band Dinner this year!
Some things don't change: Maggie and Frances are still there on the dance floor and the little black dress is virtually unchanged too!	Maggie entertaining the drinkers in the bar of St Keverne bandroom on a Crystal Palace Band trip to the far south-west. Most recently she paid a quick visit to the frozen north to help Swinton out at Malton Brass - just as much energy but a bit more organised than in this photo!
Peter may have moved on to Tyldesley but he is still supporting us at Darlington - or at least supporting Beccy!	Lizzie remained with Besses though tooth problems saw her shift for a while to tenor horn. Just after Christmas (along with two very excited deps from Swinton!) they found themselves playing at Manchester City Football ground for the Chelsea match! However at the end of her course at Salford she has returned to Swinton as 2nd Euphonium!
Matthew preparing to celebrate after Emley won our section at Malton Brass He is shortly on the move to United Co-op Yorkshire.	Mary and Stewart on honeymoon in Kenya. They are now back in Bedford and Stewart is playing with Bedford Town while Mary has just joined Hitchin Band.
	And they went to the pub for a nice quiet drink - Peter, Tom and Matthew find themselves demonstrating the finer points of Morris dance at the Beer festival!
